The overall best bench grinder that we found is this metabo 8 inch bench grinder which has a one inch arbor and a motor with an rpm of up to 3 570. Adjustable tool rests and eye shields make tool sharpening simple.

In both instances the grinder worked great. The 3 point cast iron base like an old milking stool will not wobble on uneven floors a nice feature. Much faster and more accurate than doing the jobs on bench stones. See my review of the grizzly h4379 grinder.

I m very pleased with this grinder and looking forward not using my bench stones nearly as often. A true example of you get what you pay for. You will appreciate that the grinder has horsepower motor that rotates the wheel at a speed of 3600 rotations very minute. With the grizzly g0596 i have not doubt the drill bits will be no match for it.

I ve not used a 2 horse bench grinder but this one sure seems to be acting like a 2 hp unit. I ve been able to push the morse tapers into the brush with a lot of force and the g0596 does not slow at all. The g0865 8 bench grinder with led lights is a great addition to any garage or shop. 1 hp motor runs at a maximum 3 450 rpm which will handle big jobs. Very impressive for me.

In terms of speed this is one of the best bench grinders. I m unmounting it putting it on a shelf and buying a better quality machine.
